Ukrainian public organizations work together for sustainable peace, development in Ukraine:

 Yes to Peace Formula!

 

Members of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Peace Council, along with representatives from other public organizations, educational and scientific institutions, as well as prominent public figures of Ukraine, recently met to discuss the initiative advanced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to hold the Global Peace Summit.

During the meeting, the attendees approved a Statement calling on all Ukrainian public organizations, scientific and educational institutions, and prominent public figures of Ukraine who share universal civilization values and their fundamental principles to demonstrate their readiness to act collectively in the name of establishing these principles, as well as to join this Statement,

identifying a complex of peacekeeping measures for the period of preparation for and during the Global Peace Summit, and

integrating such measures in the form of the movement known as "Public Organizations for Sustainable Peace and Development in Ukraine: Yes to Ukrainian Formula for Peace!".

 

       

 

 

 

 

    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

STATEMENT BY THE UKRAINIAN PEACE COUNCIL

 

We, the Ukrainian Peace Council, in partnership with other non-governmental organizations and academic institutions of Ukraine,

   - condemning the armed aggression of the russian federation against a peace-loving sovereign country – Ukraine, terroristic acts against civilians, destruction of civilian infrastructure;

   - reasserting our resolve to defend civilized values;

  - taking guidance from the Constitution of Ukraine and the current legislation of Ukraine, the provisions of the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;

  - upholding the principles of respect for and adherence to the principles of the UN, international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country, inviolability of state borders, equality of peoples, which is the guarantee of sustainable peace in the world;

   - supporting the provisions of the UN General Assembly Resolutions on the respect for the territorial integrity of nations, the principles outlined in the UN Charter with respect to all countries, the achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine, as well as the immediate and complete withdrawal of aggressor's troops from its territory;

   - espousing the development of the idea of convening the Global Peace Summit, proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in December 2022 and confirmed at the meeting in Copenhagen attended by national security and political advisers from Ukraine, the European Union, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Turkey and Japan;

therefore, issue the following Statement.

 

1. The Ukrainian Peace Council shares and supports:

   - the initiative to hold a Global Peace Summit, which aims to discuss the "Ukrainian Formula for Peace" outlined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, in November 2022 in particular;

   - providing security guarantees to Ukraine within the framework of a coalition of countries until the state of Ukraine becomes a NATO member;

   - adoption of the final document of the Global Peace Summit as a mechanism to implement the "Ukrainian Formula for Peace" on the basis of achieving a sustainable and just peace in the world.

 

2. We state about our support of the government policy of Ukraine aimed at achieving peace based on the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.

 

3. We call on all public organizations in Ukraine and the democratic world, which share universal civilization values and their fundamental principles set forth in the preamble of this Statement, to demonstrate their readiness to act collectively in the name of establishing these principles, as well as to join this Statement by identifying a complex of peacemaking measures for the period of preparation and holding of the Global Peace Summit, integrating such measures in the form of the movement "Public Organizations for Sustainable Peace and Development in Ukraine: Yes to Ukrainian Formula for Peace!".
