The priority directions of the Ukrainian Peace Council work are:

• developing and carrying out the programs, which favor the establishment of the constitutional principles and laws of a peaceful, neutral, non-nuclear, civilized state, which guarantees a right to live in peace, consent and international cooperation;
  
  
• active counter activities to war propaganda, military ideas, attempts of national-territorial separation; assistance in peaceful and fair conflict dismissal on terms of mutual interest and search for the generally accepted compromises;
  
  
• participation in the development of the various forms of people's diplomacy with the aim of seeking models of the non-violent world, providing the conditions for free contacts, communicating and understanding between the countries and people, creating positive social image of our country abroad;
  
  
• favoring the informational guarantees in proclaiming of the peaceful policy of the foreign countries in Ukraine;

During recent years the work of the Ukrainian Peace Council was directed to the most vital problems in the socio-political life of Ukraine, making them accessible; finding allies in carrying out the projects, assistance in uniting of different people's movements, funds and other organizations into independent groups.

Of vital importance for the country are the questions connected with the determining of a new way, which our state should follow, the understanding of the new political situation, in which Ukraine is presently found, the creating of the national material and technical base. All of the above has to be solved in coordination with the main item - preserving peace and consent in Ukraine.

That is why it is important to draw the society to peace and consent, to propagate and carry out the idea of the peace making through the peace-loving activities in order to avoid conflicts and violence in the time of exacerbating interstate, international, ethnic, and political violation.
