UPC Priorities:

  • developing and carrying out programs to strengthen constitutional principles and laws of a peaceful, neutral, country free from nuclear weapons, to guarantees Ukrainian citizens the right to live in peace, harmony, and to promote international cooperation;

  • active campaign against warmongering, militaristic propaganda, attempts at territorial divisions, assistance in dealing with conflicts in a peaceful and fair manner based on mutual interests and acceptable compromises;

  • participation in the development of various forms of national diplomacy in order to develop models of a world free from violence, to secure conditions for free contacts, communication and mutual understanding among countries and nations, and among representatives of public organizations, and to form a positive public opinion about Ukraine  beyond its borders;

  • information support in promoting peace by foreign countries in Ukraine.

In recent years, the UPC has primarily concerned itself with helping deal with the most urgent problems in Ukraine’s social and political life, with making them public, and with finding allies in assisting public movements, foundations and other organizations with integration into independent structures.

Of vital importance for Ukraine are issues which deal with finding the path along which Ukraine as an independent country should move along, with understanding new political realities situation, Ukraine faces, and with creating the material and technical foundation for further development.

Dealing with the tasks mentioned above, the UPC maintains its top priority – preservation of peace and harmony in Ukraine.

Therefore, in the times when conflicts arise among states, ethnic and political groups, the Peace Council calls for peace and harmony, for peace actions to prevent conflicts and violence.
