In 1998-99 together with the International Volunteer Committee of the USA, we conducted English language lessons free of charge in educational institutions, business and cultural centers of Kyiv.

In 2000, the Ukrainian Peace Council delegation headed by Leonid Kravchuk took part in the International Peace Conference and in the General Assembly of the International Peace Council in Greece (Athens). Mr. Kravchuk appeared with the report “The Ukrainian right to call others to the nuclear disarmament”.
    Timed to the International Peace Conference and the General Assembly of the International Peace Council, the Ukrainian Peace Council organized and realized the photo-exhibition in the City Hall of Athens on the topic “Ukraine and the World- a glance on the world on the brink of the third millennium”, which was opened by the Head of the Ukrainian Peace Council, L. Kravchuk, the Ukrainian Ambassador in Greece, Y. Sergeev and by the Deputy Mayor of Athens, Mrs. Evangelidu.
  • According to the agreement between the City Hall of Athens, Greek non-government organizations and the Holy Metropoly of New Smirna, during the nine-year term children from Ukraine will improve their health in Greece.

After establishing the seasonal air routes between Ukraine and Malta, the humanitarian trips for children in order to improve their health were made.

A number of joint programs were carried out together with the Japanese organization "Friendship" in the sphere of medicine, education, culture.

The program "Turbota" ("The Care") - charitable meals for the poor people in Kyiv, has been carried out for three years with the assistance of the Canadian Charitable Organization headed by our fellow citizen, Mrs. Evgenia Pasternak. More than 400 000 Kyivites received aid.
  • With  the assistance of the Ukrainian Peace Council the rolls and buns aid to the Children’s Tuberculosis Clinical Hospital in Kyiv and to the Children's Department of the Inborn Heart Diseases of the Academy of Medical Science Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery was organized.
  • With the assistance of the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine and under the support of the Canadian Fund of Partnership, "The Canadian Experience to Ukraine" program was carried out. The creation of the film “They can not wait” began.

 

  • In 2003 the Ukrainian Peace Council, the Switzerland Concern “Okcident” and their branch establishment in Ukraine “EuroLife” founded the Oles’ Gonchar Ukrainian Peace Council Premium for gifted youth. It is given to the different culture, science and sports arrangements     winners in Ukraine and to the Ukrainian citizens, who became winners or laureates of these arrangements, which were held abroad. The Premium is given once a year. The Oles’ Gonchar Premium laureates :
    Grytzaenko Oleksandr (2003)- violinist,
    Karyakin Serhij (2004)- chess player.

    In collaboration with other non-government organizations such as: “The International Mother and Sister League- of young Ukraine”, “The United Nations Organization Promotion Association in Ukraine”, “The International Fund of Assistance and Friendship” and others; the Peace Council initiated the youth project contest, which is held in the context of the International Peace Culture and Non-Violence Over Children of the World (2001-2010).

  • In 2004 the “Public Figures of Ukraine” program was initiated, the main goal is to honor veterans of the peace movement, cultural, science, sports, education, politic workers, and prominent representatives of different religious organizations.
